Confession

Confession

Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve your present and eternal punishment. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways to the glory of your holy name. Amen.

It is amazing that Holy Week is already approaching as we celebrate Palm Sunday tomorrow. May we daily repent of our sins and remember how our Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins that we committed yesterday, today, and in the future. There are NO GREATER GIFTS than the gifts of forgiveness from Christ and our eternal salvation.

Hi, Lucy! I agree about how important the gift of forgiveness is, but I like the other confession better: "I, a poor, miserable sinner..."

Hi Barb!! I love that confession too! I will post that one also! You know, Joyce Meier, a former LCMS member, says that she is neither poor, miserable, or a sinner. Isn't that mind-boggling?
