There is No Easter Apart from Good Friday

There is no Easter apart from Good Friday. There is no resurrection without the cross, no rising with Christ except in dying to self that we might live again, or rather that the risen Christ might live through us.

Leonard T. Wolcott

A Poor Miserable Sinner

Thanks to Barb the evil genious I am posting this other Lutheran confession. Barb says that she likes this one better, and I have to agree with her. May your Easter be a blessed one as you focus on Christ's love for you and the free gift of eternal salvation with Him someday. He is the ONLY way to heaven.

O Almighty God, merciful Father, I a poor, miserable sinner, confess to you all my sins and iniquities with which I have ever offended you and justly deserved your punishment now and forever. But I am heartily sorry for them and sincerely repent of them, and I pray you of your boundless mercy and for the sake of the holy, innocent, bitter sufferings and death of your beloved son, Jesus Christ, to be gracious and merciful to me, a poor sinful being.
