Today Is a Gift

My hairdresser, a blessing from God, told me something really neat so I wanted to share it on my blog. She also told this to the grandmother of the young lady who was killed in a car accident a few weeks ago.

Yesterday is a MEMORY,
Tomorrow is a MYSTERY,
Today is a GIFT.

Thanks! Now, what's in the box?

What do you think is in the box? :)

A picture of a grayish-colored 1987 Toyota Camry and the place of it's final mission in life. That is what is in the box.

It looks like a jewelry box to me! ;)

Today is in the box. Or something from Mary Kay.

Anonymous, that is a very interesting comment!! :) You love to bring up the subject of that camry, don't you?

Yes Barb and TK, either jewelry or a Mary Kay product could be in the box; however, the real gift is today as TK mentioned. We just have to humor Scottius Maximus, don't we? :)

I have heard this little poem once before just a bit different...
Yesterday is history
Tomorrow a mystery
Today is a gift, that's why it's called the PRESENT.
And really, isn't the box superfluous?

How can you put today in a box? I don't get it.

Yes, the box is superfluous! You are right Child of God!

But I can't stop thinking about the box. If the box is superfluous, then, I must ask, why the box?

Could be a Bible, it looks about the right size and shape. At Preschool we sing a a CPH song called , " Love In a Box " . Just yesterday we were invited to help the young children at the Topeka Resque Mission by bringing a Birthday Cake and a Children's Bible for their Birthday Gift.

Scottius, you have that special way of bringing a smile to my face! :) I included the picture only to give the idea of today being a gift or present! I think you know that - you just want to give this Lucy a hard time!! :) I deserve it a good portion of the time, right? :)

Don + Lynn, I remember singing that song when our family was younger! I love that song! Giving a Bible as a gift is the best gift one can ever give. Our church usually has extra Bibles so I have taken the opportunity to give them away when I can. I have given a few to some students when I tutored too.

By the way, I am anxious to check out your blog and hope to do so in the next day or so after a family get together this weekend!
