Good Old Rocky!!!
As Scottius mentioned in his post yesterday, he and I just saw the new Rocky movie, Rocky Balboa. We got a bucket full of popcorn (about 16 cups) for .$50 each. That's the special on Tuesdays! Of course, we went to the matinee too so we went out to the movies for about $15.75 total!! Now that is a pretty cheap movie date!
Anyway, we thought that it was a pretty good movie. Of course, you have to like the other Rocky movies to like it. As always Rocky was that same neat character who was very genuine and caring which made the story more interesting and inviting. I appreciated the reference to Jesus Christ too. There was some cussing and a couple of women dressed in revealing outfits which I can always do without, but at least it was only a few times. It is worth the money to go and see, in my humble opinion.

Can Coldwater Clean Dishes?
Can Cold Water Clean Dishes?
This is for all the germ conscious folks that worry about using cold water to clean.
John went to visit his 90 year old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of Georgia.
After spending a great evening chatting the night away, John's grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. However, John noticed a film like substance on his plate, and questioned his grandfather asking, "Are these plates clean?"
His grandfather replied, "They're as clean as cold water can get them. Just you go ahead and finish your meal, Sonny!"
For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again, John was concerned about the plates as his appeared to have tiny specks around the edge that looked like dried egg and asked, "Are you sure these plates are clean?"
Without looking up the old man said, "I told you before, Sonny, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don't you fret, I don't want to hear another word about it!"
Later that afternoon, John was on his way to a nearby town and as he was leaving, his grandfather's dog started to growl, and wouldn't let him pass. John yelled and said, "Grandfather, your dog won't let me get to my car".
Without diverting his attention from the football game he was watching on TV, the old man shouted...
"COLDWATER, GO LAY DOWN!!!!"

Lucy's Expert NFL picks for Week 14
L.A. at Last
The Latest on Adoption
Well, Scottius and I traveled once again out of state to get his fingerprints redone with the immigration officer. God was very gracious to us and provided a really kind immigration officer from our state to inform the immigration officers in St. Louis that he would probably need to give a sworn statement after his second fingerprinting was completed. At first it looked as if we were not going to get any help; however, God intervened and another very kind woman working in the St. Louis office got it all set up for us. We just had to wait until late afternoon for him to give his statement since the immigration officer doing the interview with him was doing interviews with
many foreigners, probably wanting visas or citizenship. Scottius and I agreed that we were glad that we were not going over to South Korea to get our baby because it would be frustrating to go through so many steps of finalization in a foreign country. God bless the parents who can do this!!:)
Anyway, now we have to get the information on fundraising that one organization is going to help us with should we decide to go this route and continue applying for grants. I am beginning to sell my bracelets now so hopefully we can get our yahoo website up and going to sell more in addition to some other unique items.

Yeah!! We survived!!!
Although this is not a picture from the winter/ice storm that we just had last week, it gets the point across!! It was a rather scary night, hearing all the crackling and falling limbs!
Scottius said that he would not like to be with me during a hurricane!! :) (I would not like to be with me either in a hurricane! I am not that adventurous!) I tried very hard to be calm, but it is a little unnerving having a couple of huge trees near our house and wondering if they were going to fall on top of us!! Thanks to God we only had limbs down in the yard and not on our house! It has been amazing to see the devastation all over our city though - some people had huge trees just topple over or split in half! Power is restored in most of the city from what I hear. Now some of the tree companies are making a big hunk of money, cutting down trees, etc. One couple we know paid $6000 for one tree company to cut down three trees in their backyard!! That is highway robbery if you ask good old Lucy!!
